It was then, that without a doubt, Dr. DeLuca knew they had hired the right person at just the right time. Bob strives to lead by example and foster a positive culture for the staff and organization. One of the first things he implemented was a standardized assessment to measure employee satisfaction and engagement. Under his leadership, staff satisfaction has increased from 62% to 93% and engagement has increased by 30%. Bob is a leader that supports the development of his team, gives them voice and choice, and works to empower them to work to their fullest potential. Bob strives to consistently provide the team he is immensely proud of and continually impressed by with gratitude and recognition of their efforts. Bob is known to have a talent for baking and often brings in homemade treats as one of many ways of showing his appreciation, which also includes thank you notes and surprise treats, like inviting the ice cream truck to visit the office as another way of saying thank you. Bob continues to amaze, challenge, and open doors for ACOFP. He has made ACOFP stronger and more relevant to its members, but best of all he taught everyone to dance and have fun while working hard. CONCLUSION In the 75 years since its inception, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians has faced many changes and challenges, from threats to osteopathic distinctiveness to the turmoil of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a testament to the strength of ACOFP’s members that the organization has survived and thrived, persevering to become the well-respected, distinguished body that it is today. This book will never be complete. The history of our profession and our organization will continue to be written by members — one physician and one triumph at a time. We can’t wait to see what the next 25 years will hold for our community of osteopathic family physicians. In July 2024, the AOA Board of Trustees selected Bob Moore as the recipient of the 2024 Bob E. Jones, CAE, Award in recognition of his leadership and great contributions toward advancing osteopathic medicine. Bob was recognized during the 2024 AOA House of Delegates Annual Meeting.
